Itinerary
We meet at the airport at 3.30am for our Ryanair direct flight taking us to Riga. We shall depart at at 5.55am and on arrival at 10.35am, we will be transferred to Riga, the stunning capital city of Latvia. We will have a guided tour, visiting the key points of the city and must-see sights. This picturesque area boasts cobblestone streets, charming medieval architecture, and a vibrant cultural scene. We will marvel at iconic landmarks such as the stunning Riga Cathedral, St Peter’s Church, and the Art Nouveau District. We will then make our way to our 4-star Wellton Riga Spa Hotel and check-in.
This morning, we will make our way to the Latvian Ethnographic open-air museum (entrance included) located on the banks of Lake Jugla. In the afternoon, we will visit Riga Central Market one the largest market and bazaar in Europe. We will then make our way to Riga Black Balsam Show room where we will experience an atmosphere of the 18th century. Here, we will have the opportunity to enjoy an interesting take of Balsam creation as well as a tasting (included) of the Balsam itself.
This morning, we will make our way to Gauja National Park, the largest and oldest park in Latvia. On our way, we will have a short photo stop at Sigulda Ruins and Gutmanis Cave. We will have the opportunity to take a cable car (extra – weather permitting) over the National Park from Sigulda to Krimulda.
This morning, we will board our coach to visit Rundale Palace (entrance included). Rundale Palace, often referred to as the “Versailles of Latvia,” is an exquisite Baroque and Rococo masterpiece located in the heart of the Zemgale region. This palace is one of the most outstanding monuments of Latvia’s architectural and historical heritage. After we will proceed to visit the Hill of Crosses in Siauliai. This is a site of pilgrimage, which is estimated that the first crosses were placed after 1831.
Today, we will enjoy a full-day tour through some of the most picturesque towns in Courland. We will begin with Kuldīga, a charming historic city known for its narrow cobblestone streets, old wooden houses, and Ventas Rumba, the widest waterfall in Europe. In the afternoon, we will explore Sabile, a small historic town set in the Abava River Valley. We will wander through its quaint streets and enjoy panoramic views from Sabile Hillfort. Our last stop will be at Kandava, one of Latvia’s oldest and loveliest towns, dating back to 1230. We will visit the church hill and castle ruins, and take in one final view of the picturesque Abava River Valley.
This morning, we will check-out and make our way to the town of Jurmala. Jurmala is a town known for its long white sandy beached and fresh pine forests along the Baltic Sea. This charming town offers a perfect blend of nature, culture, and leisure with its wooden seaside villas. We will then make our way to the airport for our Ryanair flight departing at 7.55pm and arriving at 10.35pm.
