Itinerary
We will meet at the airport at 8.10am for our Ryanair flight departing at 10.40am and arriving in Wroclaw airport at 1.25pm. We will drop our luggage at hotel Wyndham Old Town in Wroclaw, and have a familiarisation walk with the tour leader, before checking-in at the hotel
After breakfast we will start exploring the unique city through a guided walking tour. The city’s uniqueness lies in its canals and more than a hundred bridges which earned its title ‘The Polish Venice’. We will visit the main highlights including the iconic and colourful market Square and the Gothic style Town hall. We will also visit Ostrow Tumski, known as the Cathedral Island, one of the oldest parts of Wroclaw, to explore the historic churches. We will finish the tour at one of the most beautiful and festive Christmas markets in Poland. The city’s market square Rynek is transformed into a fairy-tale setting full of wooden stalls selling gifts, ornaments and a variety of food and drinks. One will also find a festive carousel, small Ferris wheel and children's activities.
Today’s excursion will take us to visit the Lower Silesia, starting with the Church of Peace Swidnica (extra) which is the largest timber-framed religious building in Europe, a 17th century wooden Baroque church showcasing extraordinary craftsmanship and religious resilience. Afterwards we will proceed to Ksiaz castle (extra) a majestic, centuries-old fortress perched on a forested hill in Lower Silesia, known for its dramatic architecture, rich history involving nobility and World War II secrets, and breathtaking views over the Pełcznica River valley. We will be having an audio-guided tour and some free time to continue exploring at leisure.
After breakfast, we will check-out of the hotel and walk to the Raclawicka Panorama (extra) which is a huge panorama painting of the Raclawive in Wroclaw, 15 m high and 114m long. The painting is very impressive and well painted, made in 3D with additional props laid out to make it even more realistic. Afterwards we will visit the National Museum of Wroclaw (entrance included with Raclawicka). Later we will have free time where one may opt to take a leisurely walk along the Odra River, to enjoy the scenic views that it offers. Later in the afternoon we will make our way to Wroclaw airport for our Ryanair flight departing at 5.20pm and arriving in Malta at 8.05pm.
