Itinerary

We meet at the airport at 12.40pm for our Ryanair flight departing at 3.10pm and arriving in Seville Airport at 6.10pm. We will get transferred to our 4-star Gran Hotel Cervantes in Torremolinos on the Costa del Sol for check-in.

We board our coach and head off for our optional full-day excursion driving by the old romantic road to Ronda, perched on high mountains. We have time to visit Plaza de Toros (entrance extra), the 18th century bullring and its bullfighting museum (extra), home of some of the most famous matadors in history. Later, we explore this picturesque town steeped in history. Ronda also offers a Christmas Market where you will be able to find handcrafted presents. The market features cabins, a playground and camelback rides, among other activities.

Our full-day optional excursion today takes us to Gibraltar, which is a duty-free British territory located at the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula. This is a great opportunity for one to do some shopping in the Main Street. During our free time, one may visit the spectacular St. Michael’s Cave, Europa Point and the famous Barbary Apes (entrance & transport extra).

This morning we go on an optional full-day excursion to Córdoba, a city of history and arts. We visit the famous Mezquita, Cordoba’s Cathedral, and walk to the antique Jewish quarters, a labyrinth of narrow winding streets of great charm and beauty. Free time is given to explore this brightly decorated town, where Tendillas Square turns into an enchanting Christmas wonder.

Today we have a full-day optional excursion taking us to Málaga. We discover the city centre walking through the piazzas and beautiful streets while enjoying Christmas songs, the festive splendour, exquisite aromas and culinary delicacies. Christmas is approaching and like every year the Christmas markets make their appearance in Malaga. We will find decorated shops, festive songs of choirs and wind orchestras entertaining the streets, vendors offering handicraft works and a multitude of Christmas sweets such as Roscos, Mantecados and Polvorones. You can discover all this and more in these places for a leisurely stroll, where you can soak in the festive atmosphere and beautiful Christmas lights.

Our full-day optional excursion today takes us to historic Granada, located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada. We start our tour by visiting the Capilla Royal, the gothic Granada Cathedral and later explore the maze of ancient narrow streets in the city centre which are full of fascinating curiosities, local crafts and delicacies. Afterwards we visit the famous Alhambra built on the top of a hill. The palace complexes and Generalife Gardens, beside the Albaicin, have been declared World Heritage Sites.

Today we will go for our last full-day optional excursion heading first to Mijas, an old village perched on the mountains. Mijas is purely Andalucian in charm and character with its whitewashed houses, cobbled streets, old wine taverns and typical boutiques filled with beautiful pottery and artistic leather objects d’arte. Later, we head towards the picturesque coastal town of Marbella, renowned as a playground for the rich and famous. Along the way, we make a stop to visit Puerto Banus, the primary port among Marbella’s three boating marinas.

Early check out from our rooms and make our way to Seville to enjoy a free excursion of the capital of Andalucía, where we start our day with a city tour of this historical city. During the Christmas period, the centre of Seville is all dressed up for the most awaiting moment of the year, the Christmas Holidays. One can find towering Christmas trees all covered in lights and garlands around the main square. The streets are alive with the festive aroma of Christmas, as shops compete to showcase their finest. Late in the afternoon we will be transferred to Seville airport for our Ryanair flight departing at 6.45pm and arriving in Malta at 9.45pm.
