Itinerary
We meet our tour leader at Malta Airport at 12.30am for our KM Malta Airlines flight to Zurich departing at 3pm and arriving at 5.25pm. On arrival, our private coach will take us to our 3-star Hotel Rothaus in Lucerne. After check-in we will join the tour leader for a familiarisation walk of Lucerne. We will walk along the River Reuss that takes us to the historic centre filled with old narrow streets full of shops, small squares and fountains. Amongst the famous attractions we shall see the prominent Water Tower, the Chapel Bridge, the Jesuit Church, and the Renaissance Style Town Hall.
Today our excursion takes us for a boat trip from Lucerne (included) to cross Lake Lucerne. During the journey of approximately 2 hours, we will admire the beautiful scenery of the lake surrounded by mountains forming the shape of a fjord. We disembark in Brunnen and continue by coach to Engelberg, near the Titlis cable car station. Mount Titlis rises to 3,238 metres and is one of Switzerland’s highest peaks. We will take two cable cars (optional), including the world’s first revolving aerial cableway, the Titlis Rotair. At the summit, we can enjoy panoramic Alpine views, along with the sun terrace, cafeterias, souvenir shops, and selected outdoor attractions such as the suspension bridge and glacier cave, weather permitting.
Our excursion today takes us to Grindelwald, a picturesque town surrounded by soaring mountain peaks and various activities. Later in the afternoon we will visit the town of Brienz, also known as ‘the village of carving’ and its famous Brunngasse which was once awarded the most beautiful street in Europe. We will stroll around the turquoise-coloured Lake Brienz and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of mountains and waterfalls.
Today’s excursion takes us through the scenic Bernese Oberland. We begin in Interlaken, beautifully set between Lake Brienz and Lake Thun, where you can enjoy the stunning mountain views and charming town atmosphere. We then visit Spiez, a picturesque lakeside village known for its vineyards, serene bay, and the historic Spiez Castle overlooking the lake. Our journey concludes in Thun, with its delightful old town, riverside streets, and the impressive Thun Castle rising above the town.
After breakfast, we will check-out from hotel and our last excursion takes us to visit the Lindt Chocolate Factory together with its famous chocolate fountain which is over 9 metres tall and contains 1400kg of chocolate. Here we can experience the entire chocolate making process and enjoy tastings as well (extra). Time permitting, we will have a short visit of Zurich centre and late afternoon will make our way towards Zurich airport for our return flight leaving at 6.15pm and arriving in Malta at 8.30pm.
