Itinerary
We meet at the airport at 3.15am for our Ryanair flight to Glasgow leaving at 5.45am and arriving at 8.40am. Upon arrival, we will start our drive first stopping at the impressive Kelpies, the iconic 30-metre-high horse-head sculptures. We will then proceed to Pitlochry, a picturesque town located in the heart of Pertshire. We will explore the charm of this typical Scottish Highland Village and also have time for lunch (extra). Afterwards we will proceed to Inverness, the capital of Scottish Highlands, a small yet vibrant city with a rich history. We will check-in at Glen Mhor Hotel. Afterwards we will join the tour leader to explore the quaint streets of the old town, St Andrew Cathedral and the castle grounds.
After breakfast, our optional excursion begins with a scenic drive to Loch Ness, where you’ll have the chance to enjoy an optional cruise on the legendary lake (extra). We then continue to Fort Augustus for a leisurely stroll along the water’s edge and some free time for lunch. In the afternoon, we visit the impressive Urquhart Castle, perched on the shores of Loch Ness and offering sweeping views of the loch and its dramatic Highland scenery.
Today’s optional excursion begins with a visit to the iconic Eilean Donan Castle, one of Scotland’s most photographed landmarks, set on a small island where three lochs meet. We then continue on to the enchanting Isle of Skye, starting with Portree, the island’s vibrant cultural hub, famous for its colourful harbourfront, where you’ll have free time to explore. Our journey continues north to take in the dramatic scenery of the Old Man of Storr and Kilt Rock, with a stop at the Old Bridge and Monument along the way, before returning to Inverness late afternoon.
After checking-out of Inverness, we will travel south toward Glasgow, through Scotalnd’s scenic landscapes. Our first stop will be the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct, renowned worldwide for its appearance in the Harry Potter films as the dramatic bridge crossed by the Hogwarts Express on its journey to Hogsmeade. We then continue to the Ben Nevis Viewpoint, offering magnificent views of the UK’s highest mountain. From here, we travel on to Fort William, a charming Highland town nestled at the foot of Ben Nevis, surrounded by mountains and lochs. In the afternoon, we drive through the breathtaking landscape of Glen Coe, passing the iconic Three Sisters, famed for their dramatic ridges and haunting beauty. By early evening, we arrive in Glasgow, where we check in at our hotel. After settling in, we will join our tour leader for a short familiarisation walk of the city.
Following breakfast, today we will join the tour leader for a walking tour to explore the vibrant city of Glasgow, famous for its art collections and shopping as well as numerous established restaurants and bars. We will explore the gems of this city, such as the Cathedral, George Square and Gallery of Modern art. One may opt to go on an open top Double Decker Bus (extra). In the afternoon we will have some free time for personal sightseeing and shopping.
After breakfast, our optional excursion today takes us into the Highlands to visit Loch Lomond and enjoy its beautiful scenic landscapes. Our first stop is the lovely village of Luss, known for its charming stone cottages and peaceful lakeside setting. We then continue to Balloch, a picturesque village at the southern tip of Loch Lomond, before exploring Balloch Country Park for views of the loch and a leisurely woodland walk. Next, we head to Loch Lomond Shores, where you may choose to take an optional cruise on the freshwater lake or enjoy free time for lunch or coffee. Later in the afternoon, we visit the old town of Stirling, famous for the Battle of Stirling in which William Wallace defeated the British. One may opt to visit the Stirling castle a historic fortress perched on a volcanic rock with stunning views and rich royal history.
Today our optional excursion takes us to Edinburgh, starting with a coach tour and then continue exploring on foot. We will be visiting the Royal Mile, the historic heart of Edinburgh connecting Holyrood Palace to Edinburgh Castle, including the St Giles Cathedral, stunning medieval church with beautiful stained-glass windows. Will proceed to Princess Street, the main shopping street, where we will have some free time for shopping. Afterwards we will be visiting the Edinburgh Castle, (extra to visit interior), and later in the afternoon we will leave Edinburgh to visit Roslyn Chapel (extra), dating to 15th century famous for its intricate stone carvings, stunning architecture and mysterious symbols.
Early breakfast, check out from the hotel, and will make our way to Glasgow airport for our Ryanair flight at 9.05am and arriving in Malta at 1.55pm.
