Friday 28th February | Arrival

We will meet at the airport at 11.55am for our KM Malta Airlines direct flight departing at 2.25pm and arriving in Zurich Airport at 4.50pm. We will then be transferred to our 3-star Hotel Rothaus in Lucerne for check-in. Afterwards, we join the tour leader for a familiarisation walking tour around the city centre.

Saturday 1st March | Lucerne Tour & Carnival

We shall start the day by strolling along the river Reuss that takes us to the historic centre filled with old narrow streets full of shops, small squares and fountains. We will see the Renaissance Style Town Hall, the Jesuit Church and also the famous 14th-century Water Tower and Chapel Bridge, which are the symbols of this city. We will also visit the famous Lion Monument ‘Lion of Lucerne’. We have time for a walk while enjoying the famous Carnival of Lucerne. One may even opt to go for a boat ride(extra) to explore the lake and its scenery.

Sunday 2nd March | Brienz, Interlaken & Grindelwald

Today we will start our excursion by visiting the town of Brienz, located in the middle of charming mountains at the Eastern end of turquoise-coloured Lake Brienz, also well-known as the ‘Village of Carving’. Afterwards, we proceed to Interlaken, a beautiful town uniquely nestled between Lake Brienz and Lake Thun, where we will admire the majestic scenery. Later in the afternoon, we will visit Grindelwald, a picturesque town surrounded by soaring mountain peaks.

Monday 3rd March | Basel & Wey Guild Parade Lucerne

In the morning, we will be heading to Basel, where we will explore the medieval old town centre, a place of exciting contrasts with historical buildings next to the modern architecture. We will stroll around Marktplatz, dominated by the 16th century red-sandstone Town Hall. In the afternoon we will return to Lucerne to enjoy the colourful Wey Parade held at the city centre.

Tuesday 4th March |Mount Pilatus & Departure

In the morning, we will go up Mount Pilatus (extra), at 2,0732 metres above sea level and with a view of over 73 Alpine peaks, this mountain is one of the most scenic spots in Switzerland, especially in winter when the mountain peaks will be covered in snow. We will check out of our rooms before we head to the airport for our KM Malta Airlines flight departing at 5.40 pm and arriving in Malta at 7.55 pm.
