WEDNESDAY, 26TH AUGUST | We will meet at the airport at 5.00am for our direct Air Malta flight to Ljubljana departing at 7.00am. Upon arrival, we will drive to our hotel in Bled to leave our luggage (check in is afternoon) and continue to our exciting full day optional excursion to explore the town of Bled, known as the pearl of the Slovenian Alpine region. We shall visit Bled Castle (extra) and then proceed to Bohinj, the largest glacier lake in Slovenia, situated in the region of the Julian Alps. We will take a cable car (extra) up to Mount Vogel and admire the stupendous view till we reach the summit.

THURSDAY, 27TH AUGUST | Another full day exciting optional excursion awaits us! Our first stop will be Crnava Lake, very beautiful lake located in the village of Preddvor, north of Kranj. We will have a relaxing morning surrounded with picturesque nature and later we make our way to Velesovo valley to visit the church. The Velesovo Monastery, a Dominican convent, was founded by the Patriarchate of Aquileia in 1238, but was damaged in 1471 during an Ottoman raid. The Baroque church of the monastery was erected in the second half of the 18th century upon the plans of the architect Candido Zulliani . It contains the oldest Medieval statue in Slovenia, the Velesovo Madonna, dated to ca. 1220. The statue is a painted wooden Romanesque sculpture about half a meter tall . Our last stop will be Krvavec, where we will take the chairlift up to the mountain and we will experience a full day of fun and surprises followed by a snack and animation for all generations.

FRIDAY, 28TH AUGUST | Today, we will board our coach and go on an optional full day excursion crossing Austria. First, we will visit Velden, the famous and vibrant village on the shore of lake Worthersee.  We will later drive to up to the popular Pyramidenkogel (extra), a wooden-steel structure overlooking Lake Worthersee. Pyramidenkogel is the highest observation tower in the world with total Hight of 100 meters giving us opportunity to admire beautiful summer scenery. Our last stop will be the charming lake Maria Worth where we can have peaceful time.

SATURDAY, 29TH AUGUST | This morning we shall go on an optional full-day excursion to visit Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia. This friendly city has a baroque section of the old town, with narrow, cobbled streets nestled between the castle slopes and the river Ljubljanica. Particular highlights of the old town include the Cathedral of St Nikolai, City Hall, the three bridges and the open market. After the guided tour, we will take a boat ride (included – weather permitting) on the River Ljubljanica.

SUNDAY, 30TH AUGUST | An enjoyable full-day optional excursion is planned to visit Kranjska Gora. Set near the borders with Austria and Italy, this winter and summer tourist resort touches Triglav National Park. The picturesque village retains its identity and it is fun to make use of the cable chairs up on the mountain (extra).

MONDAY, 31ST AUGUST | After breakfast, we will go on full day optional excursion taking us to Trenta Valley, where we can admire some specular views of this Valley. We shall continue our drive towards a beekeeping house, where we can learn about their methods and appreciate the importance of the bees in the nature. We will enjoy tasting their products (included). This will be followed by a lovely Barbeque in this credibly beautiful setting (drinks and lunch included). We will then procced to Kozjak Waterfalls, nicely set through a gorge. The walk to the waterfalls is easy to moderate, however the last path to the waterfalls does not have any handles to hold on.

TUESDAY, 1ST SEPTEMBER | Today our full-day optional excursion takes us to Postojna and Predjama. Postojna caves (entrance extra) are amongst the largest in the world. They feature 22 kilometers of amazing stalactite and stalagmite structures. An electric train will take us into the caves and then a guide will walk us through the most dramatic parts of the caves. We will also visit Predjama Castle (entrance extra), a unique structure in Gothic style built right in the mountains under a natural rocky arch. We will return to our hotel.

WEDNESDAY, 2ND SEPTEMBER | This early morning, we will check out of our rooms and start driving towards Ljubljana airport for our Air Malta flight departing at 9.45am and arriving in Malta at 11.45am.
