Tuesday

We will meet our tour leader at the airport at 8.20pm for our Air Malta flight departing at 10.20pm.

Wednesday

We will arrive in Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport at 3.20am. Then, we will be transferred to our 4 star hotel in Moscow for check-in. After some rest we will have breakfast and we will later go on a city tour excursion of Moscow. We will visit the beautiful Red Square, with its majestic surroundings and the famous shopping mall, the GUM, followed by a visit to Sparrow Hill. We will have some free time for souvenir shopping in ARBAT Street.

Thursday

We start the day by going to Lavra in Sergiev Posad (extra), which is considered one of Russia’s most holy places. We tour these holy grounds and visit some of these most beautiful churches. Later we have enough time to visit the Souvenir Market situated outside the walls.

Friday

Our coach will take us to visit some of the most important landmarks in Moscow - the large Kremlin Palace Complex (extra). We will explore the three most important churches in the whole of Russia, the world’s largest bell and cannon are not to be missed. Later, we will visit the famous Palace Armoury (extra), located in the Kremlin. The Armoury is home to Moscow’s oldest and most prestigious of museums, which boasts a staggering collection of Tsarist artifacts, Russian and foreign jewellery. We will later go on a Metro tour (extra) to learn about the history and architecture of the Metro subway system in the Russian capital city. It carries up to eight million people every day - more than New York and London put together - this system is one of the world’s marvels of inner city transport.

Saturday

Today we will first visit Christ the Saviour Church and then the largest European museum of fine arts: the Pushkin (extra). We will later head towards the railway station for our train to St Petersburg. On arrival we will head off to our 4 star hotel for check-in.

 

Sunday

On our first day in St. Petersburg a panoramic tour of this Venice of the north awaits us. Our excursion will take us to visit some of the most important sights of this city. A stop at Nevsky Prospect is a must. We will have free time for personal visits and shopping. We will later proceed to visit the Fortress of Peter and Paul (extra) as the original citadel of St. Petersburg.

Monday

Today’s excursion will take us to Pushkin, visiting Catherine the Great’s Palace and Park (extra). Catherine’s Palace is considered to be one of the greatest restored places in the world. This 300 metres long palace is decorated with balustrades, paintings, vases, statues and sculptures, many of them gilded with pure gold. A visit to the amazing Amber room is not to be missed, followed by some free time.

Tuesday

We will start our day by visiting the world famous Petrodvorets (Peterhof), the main residence of the Russian Tsars (extra), founded by Peter the Great. In a huge park on the bank of the Gulf of Finland, we will see the beautiful and elegant palaces and pavilions of the “Russian Versailles” Peterhof. Petrodvorets is famous for its beautiful fountains, marvellous man-made lakes and the gorgeous interiors of the Great Palace. We later have free time for personal sightseeing.

Wednesday

Today, we will visit ‘The State Hermitage Museum’ (extra), which occupies six magnificent buildings situated along the embankment of the River Neva, right in the heart of St Petersburg. The Hermitage collections of works of art (over 3,000,000 items) present the development of the world culture and art from the Stone Age to the 20th Century. After some free time, we will take a mini cruise (extra) along the canals to discover the other side of the city and admire the beautiful bridges, palaces and gardens. We will then return to our hotel for dinner and later make our way to St. Petersburg Pulkovo Airport for our Air Malta flight departing at 3.55am and arriving in Malta at 7.15am, Thursday morning.
