Saturday 28th December | Arrival, Lago di Fusine & Monte Lussari

We will meet at the airport at 6.00 am for our direct flight to Ljubljana departing at 8.10 am. On arrival at 10.15 am, we will be transferred to our hotel in Kranjska Gora and check-in. Later, we board our coach for an optional excursion to explore Lago di Fusine where we will find two breathtaking lakes located in the Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. We will then proceed towards the foot of Monte Lussari where one can opt to take a cable car (extra and weather permitting) and admire the stunning views. Monte Lussari is famous with pilgrims due to the tradition related to the discovery of a statue of the Virgin Mary with Baby Jesus.

Sunday 29th December | Lake Bled & Mount Vogel

We will start our stay with a full-day optional excursion to explore the town of Bled, known as the pearl of the Slovenian Alpine region. We shall visit Bled Castle (entrance extra), and then proceed to Bohinj, the largest glacier lake in Slovenia, situated in the region of the Julian Alps. You may opt to take a cable car (extra – weather permitting) up to Mount Vogel and admire the stupendous view till we reach the summit. On our way back to the hotel, we shall stop at Lake Bohinj to admire the largest natural lake in Slovenia and take some picturesque shots.

Monday 30th December | Klagenfurt & Velden

This morning, we will go on an optional full-day excursion crossing Austria. First, we will visit the 17th century town of Klagenfurt in the southern part of Austria. Located on the eastern bank of Lake Wörthersee, Carinthia’s capital makes a wonderful destination thanks to its cultural treasures and nearby mountains. The Neuer Platz is dominated by the Lindwurm, a winged dragon, which is the emblem of the city and was modelled on the dragon of a local legend. We then proceed to Velden, the famous and vibrant village on the shore of lake Worthersee, where we will spend a relaxing afternoon.

Tuesday 31st December | Arboretum Park & Kamnik

After a relaxed morning, we will make our way to Arboretum Park (entrance extra). The spacious landscape park with gravel paths offers the possibility of taking long walks and a peaceful rest in tranquillity. We will later proceed to Kamnik which is considered one of the most beautiful medieval towns. We will visit the Mali Grad Hill, the town hill boasting an impressive castle complex.

Wednesday 1st January 2024 | Kranjska Gora

After a relaxing breakfast, we will enjoy Kranjska Gora at leisure. Kranjska Gora is a small town in the northwest corner of Slovenia, surrounded by the magnificent Julian Alps, the red Dobrac cliffs, and the lakes of Carinthia. We will have different options to enjoy the day such as a Toboggan ride, chairlifts, sledging or even skiing (extra). We can also access the heated pools and enjoy the view of the mountains (extra).

Thursday 2nd January 2024 | Ljubljana & Departure

After we check-out of rooms, we will make our way towards Ljubljana to visit the capital city of Slovenia. It also has a baroque section, referred to by the locals as the “Old Town” nestled between the castle slopes and the river Ljubljana. Highlights of the Old Town include the Cathedral of St. Nicholas, City Hall, and the Three Bridges. After the city tour, we will have the opportunity to take a boat ride on River Ljubljanica (extra – weather permitting) to admire the city from a different view. The rest of the day will be free to enjoy some last minute shopping at the BTC Shopping Mall. Finally, we will make our way towards Ljubljana Airport for our direct flight departing at 9.30 pm and arriving in Malta at 11.25 pm.
