Saturday 28th December | Arrival

We will meet at the airport at 6.00 am for our direct flight to Ljubljana departing at 8.10 am. On arrival at 10.15 am, we will be transferred to our hotel in Lake Bled. We will then go on a half-day excursion to Bled, known as the pearl of the Slovenian Alpine region due to its emerald-green lake. We shall visit Bled castle (entrance extra). The rest of the day will be free to enjoy Bled at leisure.

Sunday 29th December | Postojna Caves & Predjama Castle

Today we join in the full-day optional excursion by visiting Predjama Castle (entrance extra). Here, one can admire this structure that is built right in the mountains. We will later proceed to Postojna Caves (entrance extra), which are amongst the largest in the world with amazing stalactite and stalagmite structures. We enjoy the Living Nativity in the caves, a special show staged only on these festive days. An electric train will take us into the caves and then a guide will walk us through the most dramatic parts of the caves.

Monday 30th December | Ljubljana

This morning, we will go on an optional full-day excursion to visit Ljubljana excursion to visit the capital city of Slovenia. It also has a baroque section, referred to by the locals at the “Old Town” nestled between the castle slopes and the river Ljubljana. Particular highlights of the Old Town include the Cathedral of St. Nicholas, City Hall, and the Three Bridges. The rest of the day is free to enjoy this beautiful city at leisure. Families with kids may opt to visit the zoo or museum of illusions.

Tuesday 31st December | Kranjska Gora

Our full-day optional excursion today takes us to Kranjska Gora. Set near the borders with Austria and Italy, this winter and summer tourist resort touches Triglav National Park. This picturesque village still retains its identity (activities are extra) and it is fun to make use of the cable car up on the mountain (extra – weather permitting). We shall then make a stop at the beautiful Lake Jasna, located just 2km from Kranjska Gora. Lake Jasna is a stunning alpine lake with a breathtaking view of the high mountain peak as an amazing backdrop. In the evening, will immerse ourselves in the New Year’s Eve celebrations by joining the gala dinner at the hotel. Afterwards, we can mingle with the crowd at the Bled promenade for the midnight fireworks.

Wednesday 1st January- Happy New Year! | Bohinj & Mount Vogel

In the morning, we will enjoy Bled at our leisure. In the afternoon we will enjoy a half-day relaxing excursion on Lake Bohinj. We will later take a cable car (extra) up to Mount Vogel and admire the stupendous views.

Thursday 2nd January | Radovlijca & Departure

After we check out of our rooms, we will make our way towards Radovljica, a medieval town with a view of the Karavanke Alps and the Julian Alps, known today as Sweet Radovljica (Radolca). The tradition of beekeeping and honey is supplemented with sweet new experiences. It has become a real capital of beekeeping and chocolate. We will have the opportunity to visit a chocolate-tasting shop in Lesce (extra). Lastly, we will make a stop in Brezje where there is the Basilica of the Virgin Mary. Finally, we board our coach to the airport for our direct flight departing at 9.30 pm and arriving in Malta at 11.25pm.
