We meet at the airport at 06.30 am for our KM Malta Airlines flight departing at 9 am and arriving at Munich airport at 11.30 am. On arrival, we drive towards Oberammergau, famous for its once-a-decade performance of the Passion Play, its woodcarvings by local artisans, and the fresco paintings on houses. These 18th-century paintings incorporate scenes from the Bible, fairy tales, and folk festivals. We will have time for lunch (extra) and have some free time for personal sightseeing. We later proceed towards Pfunds where we check-in at our 3-star Posthotel Pfunds.

Friday 13th December | Merano & Lago di Resia
On our first optional full-day excursion, we cross over to Italy, passing through the Dolomite region and arriving in festive Merano, which was once the old capital of the Tyrol region. The Merano Christmas Market provides a magical atmosphere, with daily concerts, children’s entertainment, local customs, and handicrafts. There are other Christmas markets in Merano and Environs too, offering textiles, jewellery, ceramics, glass, and wooden objects. We drive through wonderful mountain scenery until we reach this Italian medieval town, centred on Gothic Via dei Portici. On our way, we make a short stop in Lago di Resia on the Reschen Pass.

Saturday 14th December | Rattenberg, Pertisau & Schwaz
Today’s full-day optional excursion takes us to Schwaz, Rattenberg, and Pertisau. Our first stop will be in Rattenberg, like many villages, nested in steep-sided valleys throughout the Tyrol region of the Alps. We then proceed to Pertisau which borders on the Karwendel Alpine Park, the largest nature park of Austria. Our last stop will be in Schwaz, which lies in the middle of the Lower Inn Valley at the foot of Kellerjoch and Eiblschrofen mountains.

Sunday 15th December | Pfunds, Serfaus, Ladis & Old Roman Road via Claudia
The morning is free to enjoy at our leisure, or one can join the tour leader for a walk around Pfunds taking us through the serene streets with decorated houses, dwarfed by pine-clad mountains rising steeply into an unspoiled countryside. We have time to hear Mass. Late in the morning, we take an optional half-day excursion to visit the picturesque villages of Serfaus, Fiss and Ladis. Our first stop will be in Serfaus, where one may opt to go up the mountain by a cable car (extra). Later, we drive to Ladis, passing through Fiss. We stop in Ladis and walk around Lake Landerer and observe Laudegg Castle from the exterior. Our last stop will be a visit to the old Roman road Via Claudia.

Monday 16th December | Innsbruck
We board the coach for a full-day optional excursion driving towards Innsbruck, capital of Tyrol. Our first stop will be at the world-famous Swarovski Crystal World (extra), where we can enjoy a dazzling tour of this fantastic place. We later proceed to visit the old medieval town of Innsbruck and its romantic, dazzling Winter Wonderland. The Altstadt Christmas Market counts among the most beautiful and romantic locations in the entire Alpine region. MariaTheresien- Straße Market, a main shopping street, full of historic architecture and a sightseeing paradise is lit up by glittering crystal trees. A Yuletide paradise for children presents itself at the Innsbruck Marktplatz Market where stalls invite you to stroll around and perhaps buy a gift, have a drink of hot tea or the stronger Glühwein (hot spicy wine), or try some of the spicy or sweet Christmas food. A walking city tour will take us around the narrow streets and pavement cafés. We will also see the Golden Roof and the Hofburg Palace.
Tuesday 17th December | Livigno
This morning, we leave Tyrol for a full-day optional excursion driving to Livigno, the famous ski resort in the Alps, offering its breathtaking nature and crispy fresh air. We have time to explore and enjoy this exceptional village and its exquisite landscape. Livigno is one of the largest and highest ski areas in the region, apart from being a duty-free resort. There is a wide choice of bars, cafés, and restaurants as well as a considerable number of shops. Lit up with glittery lights for the festive season, the typical Alpine tradition of Christmas markets lives in Livigno. Feelings and emotions will guide you through the fascinating town set, with its small village of decorated wooden houses and many gadgets for your Christmas gifts.

Wednesday 18th December | Lake Eibsee, Garmisch-Partenkirchen & Seefeld
Our last optional full-day excursion takes us to visit Lake Eibsee, situated at the foot of Germany’s highest mountain, the Zugspitze. We will then proceed to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, a town with a history taking us back to 15AD. This town is one of the busiest year-round holiday destinations with impressive historic lovingly painted houses. The streets are enlightened with lights and Chandeliers. The main Christmas Market is set up in Richard-Strauss Kongresshaus, Garmisch. There are small stalls selling Christmas specialties like Mandels, Crepes, Hot chocolate, Gluhwein, Christmas decorations and wooden carved decoration pieces etc. Our final destination will be to visit the peaceful village of Seefeld, dominated and surrounded by mountains. Here, we can stroll around and do some last-minute shopping.
